The basis for my complaint against Monterey Homes & Meritage Homes is how they allegedly in-effect ended-up 'stealing' my $20,000 in earnest money by refusing to sell to me (without even the courtesy of giving a reason) only 2-days after agreeing in writing to the 2nd sale terms on the same Scottsdale Sandalo development home (which purchase was not completed 2-mos prior). In my opinion, their refusal to resell was allegedly the end-result of a Monterey Homes Vice President ("Martha Tolby-Smith") and her employee Gail Richardson allegedly being personally upset that I had something negative to say about Monterey-Meritage Homes Corp and the way they had handled me (since the time of my first purchase) in an email I had sent to my FutureFi Home Mortgage Loan Broker 2-days earlier, and a loan broker employee (Amy Clegg) forwarding my assumed confidential email (without authorization or my knowledge) to Ms Gail Richardson at Monterey Homes, who in-turn sent it to her manager Ms. Martha 'Marti' Tolby Smith with the notation FYI (For Your Information). Less than 2-hrs later Ms. Tolby-Smith notified me they changed their mind (with not even the common business courtesy of giving any valid reason for their stunning default) and now will not sell Sandalo Unit 1004 to me (and as a result kept my earlier confiscated $20,000).
